The brief called for the expansion and remodeling of the former station of the 5th Company of the Ñuñoa Fire Department. Built in 1962, the station needed to be adapted to current operational requirements.
To meet that goal, a master plan was designed to update the building's infrastructure, with the requirement that the station remain fully operational throughout the entire construction process.
The new building includes the construction of three apartments for firefighters, locker rooms, and a new engine bay to house two large-format fire trucks.
The project proposes a new facade along Avenida Grecia to unify the existing station with the new construction, presenting a single building that reflects a solid, modern institution dedicated to serving the community.
The new building incorporates high-standard, state-of-the-art technologies in automation, communication, lighting, and vehicle exhaust extraction. All of this means the 5th Company now has one of the best-equipped stations in the country.
